Remember Us

Remember Us is an organization whereby children who perished in the Holocaust before reaching Bar or Bat Mitzvah age can be honored by children who are now going through their Mitzvahs.

Phoebe is honoring the memory of Rivkah Zayan (aged 3) who was born in 1938 and perished in 1941 at the Shoah in Belsk Podllyaski.

Nathaniel is honoring Mendel Zayan (aged 9), Rivkah’s older brother. He was born in 1932 and perished in the same Shoah.

They were from Bialystock – which is where one of Janet’s grandparents came from.

Phoebe and Nathaniel join more than 22,000 young people in over 900 congregations worldwide in becoming keepers of the flame of memory in the first post-survivor generation.

We are profoundly proud to honor Rivkah and Mendel in this way.

We have two hotel options to choose from. The first is the W Hotel Times Square (preferred) and the second is the Edison Hotel. They are both adjacent to the venue where the party will be so both are equally convenient. We have group rates at both hotels. The W Hotel (slightly more expensive) is a far nicer hotel – brand new, with larger rooms and much better amenities. Most important, the Edison cannot guarantee the size of the rooms and most of them are barely bigger than the bed.

REMEMBER: THESE PRICES ARE WITHOUT 18% TAX.

You are, of course, welcome to find other accommodations – but these are the most convenient hotels to the party venue. Also, they are both an easy subway or cab to the synagogue.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The UN is in session this weekend so hotel accommodations will fill up quickly. Both hotels have a 72 hour cancellation policy so better safe than… no place to sleep.
